Yo-yo powered MP3 player design
recently won the Pop Sci and Core77 award for best human-powered design. While not in production yet, the plan is to combine the yo-yo with a pair of wireless headphones. The inventors estimate that between 10-12 tosses per hour are sufficient for continuous music playback.
